Editute ("we", "our", or "us") operates a white-label digital assessment and student-management platform for test-prep institutions, academies, and education businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect data when you and your institution use our platform.

By using Editute, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you represent an institution, you are responsible for ensuring that your use of the platform complies with applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction.

Information We Collect

Demo Enquiries

When you request a demo on this site, we collect your name, work email, institution name, and approximate student count. We store the request so it can be delivered reliably to our contact-processing provider and used to respond to your enquiry. Delivered requests are removed from this site's database after 90 days. Requests that cannot be delivered are held for manual resolution or deletion on request.

If you choose an external booking link instead, the booking provider may collect information under its own privacy notice.

Institution & Admin Data

When an institution signs up for or is onboarded onto Editute, we collect:

• Institution name, contact details, and billing information
• Administrator names and work email addresses
• Branding assets supplied by the institution (logos, colours, domain)
• Usage activity and platform configuration data

Teacher Data

Teacher accounts are created and managed by institution administrators. We collect:

• Full name and email address
• Account credentials (passwords are stored in hashed form)
• Activity logs related to test creation, question bank management, and result review

Student Data

Student accounts are enrolled by institutions. We collect:

• Full name, email address, and student identifier
• Program and cohort enrolment records
• Test attempt records, responses, and scores
• Performance history and analytics data

Technical Data

When anyone accesses our platform, we automatically collect:

• IP address and browser type
• Pages visited and time spent on specific areas
• Device information and operating system
• Error logs and performance monitoring data

How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Editute platform
• Deliver assessment, grading, and analytics features to your institution
• Provide technical support and respond to enquiries
• Process billing and invoicing
• Monitor platform security and prevent misuse
• Send important service-related communications (not marketing, unless opted in)

Data Storage & Security

All data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Access to production data is restricted to authorised Editute personnel and is subject to internal access-control policies.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data with trusted sub-processors (such as cloud hosting providers) solely to deliver our service, subject to confidentiality obligations.

Data Retention

Institutional data is retained for the duration of your active subscription plus a reasonable wind-down period (typically 90 days after contract termination) to allow data export. After this period, data is permanently deleted from our systems unless we are legally required to retain it.

Your Institution's Rights

As the data controller for your institution's data, you have the right to:

• Access a copy of data held about your institution and its users
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of data (subject to our Data Deletion Policy)
• Export student and assessment data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent and terminate your subscription at any time

Cookies

The Editute platform uses strictly necessary cookies to maintain user sessions and authentication. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Children's Privacy

Editute is a platform for educational institutions. If your institution enrols students under the age of 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction), you are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental consent in accordance with applicable laws. Editute does not knowingly collect data from children without institutional authorisation.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Where changes are material, we will notify institution administrators by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
